In collaboration with the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Food, University “St. Cyril and Methodius” Skopje, we have developed the first specialized course tailored to the expressed needs of producers and processors, focusing on “Production, Processing, and Marketing of Vegetables and Fruits – Challenges and Solutions.”
It is designed for all those involved in commercial production, storage, processing, and sale of vegetables and fruits, seeking to enhance their knowledge in these areas. The course represents an innovation in knowledge transfer in Macedonia and the region. Through interactive lectures, exercises, practical examples, organized visits to facilities for protected cultivation and product storage; it conveys essential current information and trends applicable to participants’ business.
Lecturers include professors from the Faculty of Agriculture – University of Belgrade, the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Food, and successful entrepreneurs with years of experience.
Over the course of 3 days, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the following topics:
- Significance of agroecological conditions on vegetable production
- Modern approaches to land use
- Future trends in vegetable production
- Cultivation technologies for vegetables and fruits
- Climate change and adaptation measures
- Post-harvest storage of fresh vegetables and fruits • Modern processing technologies
- Marketing and sales
- Carbon footprint – implications
- Examples of best practices
The course aims to provide participants with knowledge and experience for more efficient production, cost reduction, increased sales, and overall profit growth.
Thanks to the USAID EDGE project, which supported the development of the course program based on your needs, participants enjoy a subsidized fee.
The registration fee is 1,100 denars, which includes materials for the course, meals (lunch, cocktail, coffee break, formal dinner) for all three days, and the participants cover their own travel, accommodation and personal expenses during the course.
For 23 participants, one representative per company attending the course “Production, Processing, and Marketing of Vegetables and Fruits – Challenges and Solutions,” the project covers the cost of attendance in Serbia. This includes accommodation (3 nights), meals, course materials, and participation in a B2B event with companies from Serbia.
The course in Serbia will take place in end of March / beginning of April, and participants are responsible only for covering their travel and personal expenses during the course.
Certificates of participation in the course will be jointly issued by AgroNET and the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Food.
The number of participants is limited to 35.
