Invitation to participate in the Course “Postharvest biology and technology course II”

The course will be held online from March 8th to March 12th, 2021. AgroNET – Center for Education and Research, in collaboration with the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Belgrade, has created the II Specialist Course in accordance with the expressed needs of the industry, focusing on the topic of Postharvest biology and technology course II, in cooperation with the University of California, Davis.

The course will be conducted online via the MS Teams platform at the following times:

• March 8th-11th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and

• March 12th at 10:00 AM.

The course will provide participants with the latest knowledge in the field of quality preservation, ripening and deterioration processes of fresh horticultural products, Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), and post-harvest handling systems. Participants will become acquainted with storage technologies (varied depending on the type of vegetables and fruits), the impact of packaging and handling of fresh fruits and vegetables on product shelf life, and the processes involved in receiving goods at distribution centers. They will gain knowledge of the importance of food safety and familiarize themselves with standards and regulations. Throughout the course, participants will have the opportunity to interact with the instructors through questions and answers, and on the final day, through a panel discussion.

Registered participants will have free access to all lectures, presentations, and the publication “Handbook: From Harvest to Marketing – Vegetables and Fruits.”

Postharvest biology and technology course II course represents an innovation in knowledge transfer in Serbia and will enable participants to directly apply the knowledge to their business.

The course instructors include professors from the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Belgrade, professors from the UC Davis Postharvest Center, company managers, and leading experts in their fields with extensive experience and participation in successful projects.

Thanks to the support of the USAID Competitive Economy Project, which developed the course program based on research of your needs, and the fact that the course is held online, participants are not required to pay a registration fee.
